How Jamie Can Help
How Jamie Can Help

Jamie sponsors SAT/ACT prep courses through the Princeton Review. Schedules are posted for Charleston and Huntington, WV on the website at www.princetonreview.com. Increasing standardized test scores can mean more financial aid!

Jamie's process includes aiding the student in deciding on a major and then assisting them to pick a list of colleges that will provide them the best education in their field of study. Remember, the whole reason they are going to college is to get a job! Our goal is to place them in a reputable school to facilitate them getting a job soon after college.

By mentoring the family through the college visitation process, Jamie explains what to look for while on campus, who you should be speaking with, and what questions to ask.

Jamie works with the student in preparing for the college admission process. The more organized your admission packet, the sooner the college can respond to your admission request. You will not be considered for financial aid until the admission request has been accepted. (The student is a critical part of the process, some colleges weigh heavily on the student's participation in the admission process.)

Once the student is accepted, Jamie will work to identify some of the best private scholarships available and coach the family on how to work the system to shake loose gift money. She will tell you what to watch out for when taking out loans or accepting some grants. (Loans account for one-half of all financial aid!).

The earlier the family begins the college planning process, the more successful the student will be in becoming educated and prepared for a career that will fit their talents and lead to being successful adults.
Jamie can deliver the support and encouragement necessary to help your kids prepare for a successful college experience!

Planning Ahead with a Certified Educational Planner
Planning Ahead with a Certified Educational Planner

Planning for college can be an exciting journey for both the student and the parents. Jamie has committed her business to coaching the student and family through the financial aid and college admission process.

She has visited nearly 400 college campuses over the last 11 years and knows the strengths of each campus. Many of those campuses consider Jamie to be a leader in her field.

The educational planning process begins with a personal interview to begin to evaluate the students interests and career goals. Then there is an in-depth look at grades and test results. (The earlier the family commits to the process, the better chance the student can become accepted into a college or university that offers the best scholarships.)

Personal attention and a mentoring can set the right path to ensure that the forms are filled out, the test scores are up, and the scholarship applications are all benefiting the student.

As the costs of education continue to rise an ordinary family finds sending a child to college more challenging. Jamie has the experience to find scholarships and grants to match a students interest or career goals.

Jamie Dickenson is an educational consultant that is willing to be a mentor, advisor, and friend in order to successfully guide the family to the best college experience for the least amount of money.

Through Jamies method of personal coaching she can narrow the college options quickly, she has a way of communicating with students that give them that extra edge to succeed, and she has helped families to find thousands of dollars of scholarship and grant money.
